Screw configurations, new dosing, granulation and degassing techniques have been developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology. The Institute works on the implementation of completely new technological concepts and processing ideas.
For example, the Institute has introduced ultrasound in the screw area of an extruder to improve the dispersion of particles in the melt and significantly increase degassing.
